First designed in 1963 by Adolphe Jean-Marie Mouron, who went by the pseudonym Cassandre, Saint Laurent's 'ysl' emblem has come to symbolise its modernist, elegant vision of style. Here, the gold-tone letters adorn the flap of the season's rendition of the Voltaire bag, complete with glossy patent leather in a rich wine hue.
Yves Saint Laurent was the first couture house to introduce the concept of luxury ready-to-wear. Today, the iconic label is fronted by Anthony Vaccarello, who aims to explore Saint Laurent’s early years through his creations.
