Eager to find a signature that perfectly represented its androgynous, timeless aesthetic, Saint Laurent looked to the expertise of French artist Adolphe Mouron Cassandre. And so, in 1961, the monogram was born - expressed here in a classic gold tone that sings in harmony with the calfskin leather backdrop.
