You'd be more likely to see a bouclé coat on the catwalk than in the classroom but this textured fabric is THOUGHTFULLY DESIGNED to be super soft and cosy as well as classy. Ever since designer Coco Chanel introduced her bouclé tweed jacket back in the '50s, it's been a popular way to create texture in fashion fabric. The French word bouclé meaning 'curled' or 'ringed' refers to the yarn made from a series of looped fibres, just like with this teddy coat.
The brand cut it to a longer length for extra coverage and warmth and added two handy patch pockets and four faux-horn buttons behind the front placket. It's really something to be proud of so we've included a name and class label for easy identification.
Designed in-house, John Lewis & Partners introduces a style philosophy focused on individuality, colour and versatility. Every season, designers create distinct colour groups that include both the building blocks of every wardrobe and vibrant stand-out pieces.
