The story behind Alighieri's 'The Spellbinding Amphora' necklace is truly serendipitous - designer Rosh Mahtani was practicing the lost-wax techniques used to make the label's jewelry when she noticed the cast broke apart in such a beautiful way. Gold-plated bronze was then poured into the mold to create the textured, sculptural pendant that forms its enchanting silhouette.
Founded in 2014, Alighieri creates jewellery inspired by Dante Alighieri’s ‘Divine Comedy’. Its ‘Modern Heirlooms’ are all handcrafted in London. Core pieces are cast in recycled bronze before being plated in gold, or made in solid sterling silver, supplied by certified members of the Responsible Jewellery Council.
